What’s new with math this year? - updated 7/25/26
Math 7— we have two options for our fall semester of Math 7. Either meet every week or just once a month. During spring semester, everyone meets every week.
Meet every week = Traditional Math 7: this includes review of math 6 material and more instruction, games, and practice for new Math 7 concepts. $550 for 14 weeks, 1.75 hours per week
Meet just once a month = Hybrid Math 7. Come to class on the first Tuesday of the month for direct instruction on new Math 7 concepts then work on assigned Math 7 and Math 4-6 review using Ms. Lisa’s full curriculum at home. For the once a month only class, register for “Hybrid Math 7 or Fall: Monthly Math 7” $225
Math Camps August 25 & 27, 9 to 12 pm for Math 7 and 1 to 4 for Math 8+HPA to jump start your math brain, review and preview challenging concepts & Math Support classes offered up to two additional weeks each month. See seminar page for details.

9:00 -11:00 Math 8 + Honors Pre-Algebra ($550 per 14-week semester; year-long course. September 1 – December 8 for fall, January - April for spring)
11:00-3:00 Science & Language Arts($800 per 12-week semester; year-long course. September 1 – November 17 for fall, January - April for spring)
Tuesday Science and Language Arts is only open to students taking math at FS or who are already in Algebra.
3:00 - 4:45 Math 7 - two options
Traditional Math 7 every Tuesday for 14 weeks. $550
Hybrid Math 7- meets just once a week on 1st Tuesdays a.k.a. Fall: Monthly Math 7($225 4 weeks, 1st Tuesdays: Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1) .
4:45 - 5:45 Math Support is after math on 3rd Tuesdays ($80, 4 weeks, maximum 8 students)
SPRING 2027

2:30 - 3:45 Shakespeare and Co. ($250 per 8-week course: January 6, 13, 20, 27 & February 3, 10, 24 (no classes 2/15-19), March 3

September 3, 10, 17, 24 and October 1, 8, 15, 22 - Thursday classes are all 8 weeks long
11:00-1:00 p.m. Real Life Farm Science - Session 1 ($400, 8 weeks.)
Session 1 and Session 2 overlap from 12 to 1 for lunch and written work time so students have a bigger cohort for recess yet a lower student : teacher ratio for project and farm work time
12:00 - 2:00p.m. Real Life Farm Science - Session 2 ($400, 8 weeks.)
2:00 - 3:15 p.m. Poetry Analysis ($250, 8 weeks)
SPRING 2027

FALL SEMESTER Starts September 1st.
Thanksgiving Break is the week of November 24-27 for math classes. All other classes end before Thanksgiving.
Winter Break is 3.5 weeks Wednesday, December 9 – Monday, January 4, 2026
Make-up classes: Tuesday make-up class if needed is Dec 1 for non-math classes and Dec. 15 for math classes. Thursday make-up class if needed is October 29.
Math 8 + HPA - September 1 – December 8
Sci-LA - September 1 – November 17
Hybrid Math 7 Meet-Ups 1st Tuesdays of the month Sept. 1, Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 1
3:00 – 4:30 WW: High School Research Paper The other Tuesdays Sept. 8, 22, 29, Oct. 13, 20, 27, Nov 10, 17.
SPRING SEMESTER starts January 5.
February Break coincides with President’s Day February 15-19, 2027
Spring Break is 2 weeks from March 22 through April 2.
Make-up classes: Sci-LA make-up day if needed is 4/20. Math make-ups if needed are double classes on 4/20 or 4/27 whichever is available: Math 8+HPA from 9 to 1 pm. Hybrid Math 7 from 1:30 to 4:30.

REAL LIFE FARM SCIENCE 5-8th grades
MATH CLASSES -any age/grade as long as they meet the math prerequisites and have the maturity to do homework and be in class
WRITING WORKSHOPS
WW: HS Research Paper 7-11th grade. Must be able to write a full essay and read at a 7-8th grade level at least. Our textbook is a college text.

Priority enrollment in February is for current students.
In 2027-28 there will be three Sci-LA sessions instead of two and a new Math 6 class.
